Education Description
The course focuses on key concepts in sustainability and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The content includes the following topics: skills and strategies for managing climate risks, integrating ESG perspectives (environmental, social, and corporate governance), and creating long-term value for shareholders and society based on the UN SDGs. Responsible leadership as part of economically, ecologically, and socially sustainable business management. Principles of transparent and trustworthy sustainability communication as part of building competitive company brands. KPIs (key performance indicators) to measure an organization's impact and dependence on natural, human, and social capital.
Prerequisites
The course is an independent entity and its completion does not require other studies.
Objectives
On this course, students learn the key concepts in sustainability and UN sustainable development goals. This includes:
- Developing sustainability knowledge management skills and strategies for managing climate risk, facilitating ESG (environmental, social, corporate governance) integration, and creating long-term value for shareholders and society based on the UN sustainable development goals.
- Recognizing the importance of responsible leadership as part of economically, ecologically, and socially sustainable business management is also at the core of this course.
- Learning key principles of transparent and trustworthy sustainability communication as part of building competitive company brands are explained as well.
- Gaining skills and competence needed to define and apply effective KPIs (key performance indicators) to measure the impact and dependence of an organization on natural, human, and social capital.
After completing this course, students understand the opportunities and challenges in responsible leadership and know how to plan and evaluate sustainable communication practices. One also learns how to critically assess common sustainability KPI´s and metrics.
