Introduction to the Visiting Student Elective Program

The Visiting Student Elective program at Flinders University offers external medical students the opportunity to undertake up to 6 weeks of placement in various disciplines.

Program Details

The program is made possible through partnerships with Local, Rural, and Regional health networks. Students can choose from a range of disciplines, including:

• Medicine
• Surgery
• Psychiatry
• Obstetrics & Gynaecology
• Rehabilitation

Program Structure

The Visiting Medical Elective program allows students to gain hands-on experience in their chosen discipline, with placements lasting up to 6 weeks. This provides a unique opportunity for students to develop their skills and knowledge in a real-world setting.

The program offers placements in the following disciplines:
