Introduction to the Diploma in Information Technology
The Diploma in Information Technology at Flinders University Academy is designed to provide students with a fast track to a Flinders degree. This diploma offers direct entry into year 2 of a variety of Flinders information technology degrees upon successful completion.

English Language Entry Requirements

Entry Requirements
Successful completion of Australian Year 12 with a minimum ATAR of 40 or a comparable educational level in the student's home country is required.
What to Expect from the Diploma in IT
Study Hours
This full-time course includes 24 hours of face-to-face instruction per week.
Course Structure
- Students studying the 8-month diploma will study 4 x 4.5 unit topics per study period, supported by core skills classes in language, numeracy, and study skills.
- Students studying the 12-month diploma will cover the same content over three study periods, with the final study plan determined by topic availability.
- Additional support classes are available, providing 2 to 6 hours of support per week.
Learning Experience
The learning experience is collaborative and engaging, using the latest transition pedagogy techniques. Students work in small groups with dedicated educators, exposed to English, Numeracy, and Study Skills while learning specialist knowledge.
Pathway to a Flinders Degree
First Year
Students study the Diploma in Information Technology for 8 or 12 months.
Second Year
Upon successful completion of the diploma, students gain direct entry into Year 2 of their destination degree at Flinders University. They can select from a diverse range of undergraduate degrees in fields and careers within the Information Technology sector, including:
