The Foundation Studies program is a free university pathway program designed for domestic students who do not meet the usual entry requirements for university. It helps students gain the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to succeed at Flinders University.

Eligibility

The program is available to Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents, and New Zealand citizens who have not previously studied at university and do not hold a TAFE/VET Advanced Diploma. It is not available to students enrolled in Year 12 studies or to those who were eligible to be enrolled in Year 12 studies in the year they wish to commence this program.


Program Structure

The program offers flexible study options, including:


  • A 5-week intensive course
  • A 10-week course
  • A 14-week course Students can choose to study online or on campus at Bedford Park, Flinders City Campus, or regional TAFE locations.

Guaranteed Entry

Upon successful completion of the Foundation Studies program, students are guaranteed entry into over 50 Flinders degrees. These degrees span a wide range of areas, including criminology, health sciences, creative writing, and social work.


Competitive Entry

For degrees that do not offer guaranteed entry, students can still use the Foundation Studies program as a pathway and apply through competitive entry.
