School Recommendation Program

The School Recommendation Program is an admission pathway that allows students to apply for admission to the university based on their school's recommendation. To be eligible for this program, students must:


  • Be applying for a Flinders course starting next year
  • Have experienced educational disadvantage (medical and/or compassionate)
  • Be currently enrolled in Year 12/13 or an alternate education pathway (FLO/VET)

Application Process

To apply for the School Recommendation Program, students must:


  1. Apply for a Flinders course through the South Australian Tertiary Admissions Centre (SATAC)
  2. Download and complete Section A of the School Recommendation Application Form (attaching any relevant documentation and two of their latest school reports)
  3. Arrange for the School Principal or delegate to complete and sign Section B and return to the University by the end of December

Selection Criteria

Applications will be considered based on a combination of:


  • Principal/school statement
  • Applicant statement
  • Two latest school reports
  • Overall performance at Year 11/12 studies (including subjects and subject combinations that may not be counted towards an ATAR)
  • Illustration of achievements in other aspects of life and other studies, where relevant (TAFE/VET/community involvement/work experience/volunteering)
