The fellowship enables full-time or part-time PhD students to undertake short periods of further study or research in approved universities or institutions outside Australia.

Benefits

The value of the fellowship includes an economy class return-trip airfare with student concession plus taxes and travel insurance. The university's Scholarships Committee may also grant the BankSA Travelling Award of $625.00.

Eligibility

Candidates for the Travelling Fellowship must:

  • Have been enrolled in the university for a PhD degree for at least 18 months at the time of departure (or an equivalent period part-time)
  • Have clearly demonstrated an outstanding aptitude for independent research
  • Have gained unqualified support from their supervisor for the proposed overseas visit
  • Have gained approval from the overseas institution for the proposed period of study

Conditions of Award

The fellowship will be awarded by the Higher Degree by Research Scholarships Committee, taking into account the merit of both the applicant and the application, and the financial resources available to the applicant.
