Bachelor of Psychological Science (exit only)
Overview
The Bachelor of Psychological Science is an exit award for those students in the four-year Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) who have completed the first three years, but do not meet the standard required for entry into fourth year, or who do not wish to continue to the fourth year.
Admission
This program is an exit point only from the Bachelor of Psychology (Honours).
Structure
Qualification for this award requires the successful completion of 240 credit points, including:
- 140 credit points of Psychology core subjects
- 20 credit points of Psychology Alternate subjects
- One minor (40 credit points) and electives (40 credit points), or two minors (80 credit points)
Sequence
The recommended sequence for full-time students is as follows:
Year 1
- Autumn: BEHV 1018 Psychology: Human Behaviour, BEHV 2018 Personality, and 20 credit points of Psychology Alternate subjects, minor subjects, or electives
- Spring: BEHV 1016 Psychology: Behavioural Science, BEHV 1003 Introduction to Research Methods, and 20 credit points of Psychology Alternate subjects, minor subjects, or electives
Year 2
- Autumn: MATH 2006 Experimental Design and Analysis, BEHV 2002 Brain and Behaviour, BEHV 2010 Perception, and 10 credit points of Psychology Alternate subjects, minor subjects, or electives
- Spring: BEHV 3014 Motivation and Emotion, BEHV 2005 Human Learning, BEHV 3023 Social Psychology, and 10 credit points of Psychology Alternate subjects, minor subjects, or electives
Year 3
- Autumn: BEHV 3004 Advanced Research Methods, BEHV 3009 Developmental Psychology, and 20 credit points of Psychology Alternate subjects, minor subjects, or electives
- Spring: BEHV 3002 Abnormal Psychology, BEHV 3007 Cognitive Processes, and 20 credit points of Psychology Alternate subjects, minor subjects, or electives
