Course Description

The course explores the general reasons and models behind the distribution of organisms, focusing on historical, evolutionary, geographical, climatic, and ecological factors. It also covers the impact of humans on species distribution and the structure of Finland's biota. Additionally, students will learn about biogeography research methods.

Learning Objectives

After completing the course, students will master the basic concepts and theories of biogeography, including the distribution of organisms in the environment and the historical and current factors influencing their distribution. Students will also gain a deeper understanding of the structure of Finland's biota.


Implementation Methods

The course includes 34 hours of lectures and independent study, with Moodle exams.
