The Mineralogian Peruskurssi (AVOIN YO) is a 5-credit course that introduces students to the basics of mineralogy. The course covers the fundamental principles of mineral classification, the properties of minerals, and their occurrence.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of the course, students will be able to:

• Identify the basic principles of mineral classification.
• Understand the properties of minerals and their variations.

• Have a general understanding of the systematic classification of minerals, their chemical and physical properties, and their occurrences.

Assessment

The course will be assessed on a scale of 1-5, with a fail (HYL) option for those who do not meet the pass criteria.
