Program Overview
Introduction to the International Foundation Studies Program
The International Foundation Studies Program at Flinders University Academy is designed to provide students with the skills and qualifications necessary for entry into a Flinders bachelor's degree. This program offers the best preparation for university life, with students studying the Foundation Studies program located in the heart of the Flinders Bedford Park campus.

Duration
The program is available in two durations: 8 months and 12 months.
Start Dates
- February: 12-month program
- June and October: 8-month program
Delivery Mode
The program is delivered full-time, face-to-face at the Bedford Park campus.
Annual Fees
The annual fee for both the 8-month and 12-month programs is AUD $30,500.
English Language Entry Requirements
- 8-month program: Overall IELTS score of 5.5 (with no band below 5.0) or equivalent.
- 12-month program: Overall IELTS score of 5.5 (with no band below 5.0) or equivalent.
Entry Requirements
Successful completion of Australian Year 11 or a comparable educational level in the home country, and at least 17 years of age at commencement.
What to Expect from the Foundation Studies Program
Study Hours
Students will be in class four to five days per week, with an expectation of 24 contact hours and 12 independent study hours per week.
What You Will Learn
- Students will study a core topic (English, Numeracy, Study Skills) and a key learning area (Arts, HASS, Science, Maths) each study period.
- Activities in Key Learning Areas will coordinate with the core skills taught to reinforce learning and give students every opportunity to achieve their learning goals.
- English language support is integrated with numeracy, study skills, and key learning areas.
Support Classes
Support classes provide students with further opportunities to accelerate their learning and focus on skill areas they would like to improve, including tailored English language content and activities.
Pathway to a Flinders Degree
The Foundation Studies program is specially designed for Year 11 graduates (or equivalent) to learn the essential knowledge, English language skills, and academic skills required for their degree studies. Upon successful completion of the Foundation Studies Program, students will receive guaranteed entry into their chosen destination degree with no minimum score required for most degrees.
Academic English and Integration
Academic English topics and the integration of English Language into all topics and key learning areas provide students with the required English language skills to be successful in their chosen degree.

Scholarships
