Program Overview
Space Sciences and Technologies (Space-ST), M.Sc.
The Master's program in Space Sciences and Technologies (Space-ST) is a comprehensive, application-oriented program that covers the three fundamental technologies of space exploration: data acquisition (remote sensing), data processing, analysis, and transmission, and communication technology (via satellites). The program offers two specializations: Physics for Space Observation and Information Technologies for Space.
Program Description
The program is designed to provide students with a thorough understanding of the principles and methods of space sciences and technologies. The curriculum includes lectures, exercises, and a joint laboratory practical course with experiments from the three subject areas, allowing students to deepen their understanding of the theories and methods learned. The program is taught entirely in English and takes place at the University of Bremen.
Study Content
In addition to knowledge in the areas of remote sensing, earth observation, retrieval theory, electronics, communication, digital image processing, and data analysis, the program provides practical experience through laboratory practicals. Students also work on a research project with a final master's thesis and a closing colloquium in the 4th semester.
