Course Description

The course provides an overview of the history, current state, and future development of the Finnish economy. It covers topics such as productivity and economic growth, globalization, public finance, and the challenges of the welfare state. The course also explores the Finnish economy from the perspectives of regional and local economy, labor markets, finance, and monetary policy.

Objectives

Upon completing the course, students will be able to:

• Describe the historical development of the Finnish economy
• Analyze Finland's position in the global economy
• Evaluate the key challenges facing the Finnish welfare state
• Identify the main characteristics of different sectors of the Finnish economy
