Remote Health Program
Transition to Remote Area Nursing
This 10-day face-to-face non-award short course prepares registered nurses with the skills and knowledge required to become effective members of remote primary health care teams.
Who Should Attend
This course is designed for registered nurses.
What You Will Study
The 10-day course is presented as two intensives:
- Framing Indigenous Health: focuses on cultural safety, the social determinants of health, and primary health care.
- Remote Advanced Nursing Practice: develops foundational skills and knowledge for advanced nursing practice in remote areas.
Assessment
Structured observation of Remote Area Nurse consultation plus 100% attendance.
Credit
Continuing professional development (CPD) self-reported.
