Program Overview

The Social Studies program is a 60-credit course offered by the University of Oulu's Open University. The program can be started in the summer of 2025, and the application period is from April 1, 2025, to August 31, 2025.

Program Structure

The program consists of the following components:

• Sociology, basic studies 25 credits (summer 2025, organized by Pohjois-Ostrobothnia Summer University)

• AYP Law course 5 credits (mandatory, organized by the University of Oulu)

Additionally, students must choose one of the following 5-credit courses:

  • AYA Ethics and social philosophy 5 cr

Business Studies Minor Studies

The Business Studies minor is a 25-credit course that includes the following components:

• AYP Basics of Marketing 5 credits
• AYP Accounting and income statement 5 cr
• AYP Financial Markets 5 cr
• AYP Finnish economy and economic policy 5 cr
• AYP Fundamentals of Economics 5 cr
• AYP Leadership and organizations 5 cr
• AYP Management Accounting 5 cr
• AYP Strategic management 5 credits
• AYP Brand Marketing 5 cr
