Program Overview
Master's Programme in Communications and Computer Engineering
The Master's programme in Communications and Computer Engineering is designed to provide students with advanced knowledge and skills in the field of communications and computer engineering.
Application Period
The application period for the winter semester is from 1 June to 15 July, and for the summer semester, it is from 2 December to 15 January.
Required Language Proficiency
German language proficiency is required for this programme.
Admission Restriction
There is no admission restriction for this programme.
Entrance Requirements
To be eligible for this programme, applicants must have:
- A bachelor's degree in a programme in Communications and Computer Engineering or an equivalent degree from a university, university of applied sciences, university of cooperative education, or a recognised international university.
- An overall grade of 2.7 or better in their bachelor's degree, or a bachelor's thesis with a grade of 2.0 or better.
- Knowledge and competences in mathematics, electrical engineering, computer science, and physics that are at least equivalent to those taught at Ulm University.
- Sufficient German language proficiency.
Application Documents
When submitting an application, the following documents must be uploaded:
- Bachelor's degree diploma and certificate with final grade, as well as an overview of subjects and grades/transcript of records with credit points.
- If the higher education degree is not yet completed: an overview of subjects and grades/transcript of records issued by the higher education institution with the total credit points earned up to the application deadline and an indication of the provisional average grade.
- Form requesting subject-specific additional information.
- Proof of German language proficiency for non-German-taught bachelor's degree programmes.
- APS certificate or APS confirmation for applicants with a higher education degree from China, Vietnam, or India.
- Grading scale of the degree programme with indication of the lowest passing grade and maximum grade for the degree.
- Official translation into German or English if the proof and documents are not in German or English.
Admission Procedure
Admission will be granted when the application is submitted in the correct form and by the deadline, and the entrance requirements are fulfilled. The admissions committee will decide on the equivalence of the subject matter of the study qualification.

Bachelor's Degree Graduates of Ulm University
If you are a bachelor's degree graduate of Ulm University in Science in Communications, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, you do not need to apply for the Master's programme. You can submit an application to change your degree programme to the Studiensekretariat as soon as you have completed your bachelor's degree and meet the admission requirements.
