Course Description
This course focuses on financial mathematics and risk assessment, covering topics such as portfolio management, derivatives, and structured products.
Course Objectives
- Define the basic properties of financial markets
- Describe the functioning of financial mathematics techniques
- Explain important concepts such as arbitrage freedom and completeness
- Identify and modify underlying probabilistic techniques and results
Course Structure
- The course uses a blended learning concept, with up to 80% online or self-study phases.
- The course includes specially developed teaching materials, online collaboration tools, and reflection opportunities.
Prerequisites
- A first university degree is required.
- Knowledge of analysis, linear algebra, stochastics, probability theory, and statistics is necessary.
Technical Requirements
- A desktop computer or notebook with a current version of Microsoft Windows, Apple macOS, or Linux is recommended.
- A headset and internet access with a minimum of 3 Mbit/s downstream and 384 kbit/s upstream are required.
Performance Records
- The allocation of credit points is based on the passing of a written or oral examination.
- To be admitted to the module examination, students must complete the mandatory content.
