Learning Objectives

Upon completing the basic studies in Communication, students will have:

• A conceptual and theoretical understanding of communication phenomena
• Knowledge of the history and development of communication and media culture
• Understanding of research traditions and the history of communication studies
• Familiarity with organizational communication, public relations, image, branding, reputation management, and crisis communication
• Insight into the principles of popular science communication and the external and internal publicity of science
• Understanding of media and journalism, including their historical changes and current trends
• Knowledge of entertainment theory, public discussion, democracy, freedom of speech, and the social responsibility of communication
• Familiarity with the ethical principles and rules of fair and responsible communication
