Mediendesignpraktikum: Praxisnahes Lernen für digitale Mediengestaltung

Module Description

The Mediendesignpraktikum module offers practical competencies in designing digital media. It consists of two parts: workshops on media design and a project portfolio.


Workshops

  • Participants attend at least five workshops on specific media design topics.
  • Workshops can be chosen from SAPS offerings or external providers.

Project Portfolio

  • After completing the workshops, participants create a project portfolio documenting their practical engagement with digital media design.
  • The portfolio includes reflections on the challenges, advantages, and disadvantages of working with different tools and the knowledge gained.

Costs

  • The fee for the module is 195 for enrolled students and 215 for external participants, if only external workshops are attended.
  • For SAPS-offered Masternuggets, the fee is 210 for enrolled students and 230 for external participants.

The module handbook provides detailed information on the module structure, requirements, and assessment.


Module Content

  • Creation of own media content and/or setup of learning management systems, depending on the workshops attended.
  • Creation of a presentation portfolio with reflective aspects of one's work.
  • License information and notes on Open Educational Resources.
  • Five preliminary achievements: attending five workshops, which can be completed over several semesters.

Learning Objectives

Upon completing the module, students are able to:


  • Independently set up small media learning environments and create media learning content.
  • Use materials regarding their licenses appropriately.
  • Estimate the workload for providing media learning environments and creating media learning media.

Learning Setting

The online module is offered in a blended-learning format, including self-study materials, workshops, and online sessions.


Admission Requirements

A first university degree is required for admission to the module.


Technical Requirements

Recommended technical requirements include a desktop computer or notebook with a current operating system, headset, and internet access with a minimum speed of 3 Mbit/s.


Performance Records

For admission to the module examination (presentation portfolio), participation in at least five workshops is required.


Certification

Upon successful completion of the module, participants receive a certificate and a supplement outlining the module content, equivalent to 6 ECTS points.
