Diploma in Building Design Management (7108)
Overview
The Diploma in Building Design Management is available as an exit point only from Diploma in Building Design Management/Bachelor of Building Design Management. This program is designed to provide students with the first year subjects included in the Bachelor of Building Design Management degree. It presents students with a range of subjects covering the design, building, and management aspects of construction management and aims to prepare students for study beyond the first year of the Bachelor of Building Design Management degree.
Admission
- Local students are required to have:
- Completed an English subject in the NSW Higher School Certificate
- Competency in English at IELTS 6.0 equivalent (unless a native speaker)
- Passed The College English test with 70% or higher
- Passed The College Foundation Studies Academic English subject at C grade level or higher for which advanced standing can be applied for
- Met other entry requirements such as an ATAR identified prior to the offer of a place
- Completed The College Foundation Studies program with a Grade Point Average of 5.5 or higher
- International students must satisfy one of the following language requirements:
- IELTS 6.0 with a minimum 5.5 in each sub-band
- Completed The College EAP 4 program with a 50% pass
- Passed The College English test with 70% or higher
- Passed The College Foundation Studies Academic English subject at C grade level or higher for which advanced standing can be applied for
- Academic Entry Requirements vary according to country of origin
Structure
The early exit College Diploma consists of 100 credit points which includes two College Preparatory units. Students must pass the following preparatory level subjects for which no advanced standing will be granted in the University degree program:
- BLDG 0002: Building Calculations (WSTC Prep)
- LANG 0050: Essential Literacy for Construction Professionals II (WSTC Prep) Students must also pass the following core University level subjects:
- BLDG 1008: Construction Work Safety (WSTC)
- ENGR 1037: Construction Communication (WSTC)
- BLDG 2012: Contract Administration (WSTC)
- BLDG 1018: Residential Building (WSTC)
- BLDG 1016: Building Science (WSTC)
- ARCH 1005: Drawing and CAD (WSTC)
- BLDG 1017: Non-Residential Building (WSTC)
- BLDG 1010: Environmental Building Design (WSTC)
