The Plants and Bugs Camp is a Junior Master Gardener program that combines garden and bug activities for children. The camp is designed for ages 7 through 12 and offers a fun and entertaining experience.

Program Details

Camp Activities

The camp includes a variety of activities, such as:

• Racing a termite
• Collecting bugs
• Basket weaving
• Nature walks
• Eating snacks of fruit and veggie sampling

Camp Structure

• Mornings will be plant-focused activities
  • Includes garden-related activities
• Afternoons will be insect-focused activities
  • Includes bug-related activities

Camp Logistics

• The camp is located at The Botanic Garden Horticulture Education Center
• Youth must bring their own lunch
• The camp fee includes supplies and snacks
• Two adult helpers will be present to keep youth safe and busy

• 2024 Camp Dates:
  • July 15 - 19
  • August 5 - 9
• Camp fee: $200/child
