Diploma in Culture, Society and Justice (7188)
Overview
The Diploma in Culture, Society and Justice is an engaging and flexible interdisciplinary program providing students with essential knowledge and analytical skills transferrable to a wide range of career options and future academic study. Through the program, students will investigate various social, cultural, legal, political, environmental, and economic challenges facing contemporary society and gain critical insight into key debates and perspectives that shape our understanding and professional practice across a range of fields.
Admission
This program is open to Australian Citizens and Permanent Residents who are aged 17 years or over and not currently enrolled in or completing Year 12 in the same year of intended admission.
Program Structure
Students will need to enrol in one subject that will run online for 17 weeks (in either Autumn or Spring sessions) and will simultaneously study another four subjects on campus in block mode (1 subject studied every 4 weeks) during this period.
Start Year Intake
- GEDU 0016: Employability and Graduate Success (WSTC Prep) (Studied over 17 weeks) - 15 credit points
- GEDU 1001: Introduction to University Life (WSTC) - 10 credit points
- GEDU 1002: Core Foundations and Key Ideas (WSTC) - 10 credit points
- CULT 1028: Introduction to Criminology and Justice (WSTC) - 10 credit points
- HUMN 1068: Intersectionality: Identity, Diversity and Difference (WSTC) - 10 credit points
- GEDU 0017: Transition Success (WSTC Prep) (Studied over 17 weeks) - 15 credit points
- HUMN 1070: Indigenous Australia: People, Places and Philosophies (WSTC) - 10 credit points
- HUMN 1069: Human Rights and Community Action (WSTC) - 10 credit points
- Choose one elective subject - 10 credit points
- Choose one elective subject - 10 credit points
Mid Year Intake
- Same structure as Start Year Intake but with different subject order.
