Program Overview
International Graduate School in Molecular Medicine Ulm (IGradU)
The International Graduate School in Molecular Medicine Ulm (IGradU) offers a comprehensive training program in key competencies, designed to equip students with a full range of skills that will improve their effectiveness as researchers and ensure they are highly qualified and employable in various careers by the end of their studies.
Key Competence Seminars
Members of the Graduate School are supported by a wide range of additional seminars and workshops. The training program in key competencies is customized to fit the typical situations and problems that occur during doctoral research. The Graduate School works with highly qualified trainers and experts who have practical experience in the academic field. The key competence courses are open to all members of the Graduate School, and no fees are charged for attending these courses. The courses are normally held in English.

The program includes a variety of seminars and workshops, such as:
- Kick-Off Project Management
- Leadership Event with the BioPharma Cluster Southern Germany
- Sicherheit in der Gentechnik
- Writing Papers and Theses in the Life Science
- GMP
- How to present data in the Life Science
- Communication strategies
- Project Management
- Industrial Pharma Management
- Designing Scientific Posters
- Writing Productivity: Tools and Techniques
- Publishing Research Articles: Strategies and Steps
- Current Topics in Laboratory Animal Science: Legislation, Genetics, and Hygiene Levels
- Biotech Quality Manager
- Good Clinical Practice
Additional Opportunities
In addition to IGradU courses, students can also subscribe to the education programme of the university (Department III; personnel service), ProTrainU, or ULMTeC Academy courses. Workshops with 8h or 2 workshops with 4-6h each can be accepted as an activity.
Good Scientific Practice - GSP
The GSP course is organized by ProTrainU and is mandatory. Students can apply for a seat via the ProTrainU booking tool.
Animal Course
The "Tierforschungszentrum" offers an animal course in German, and the University Ulm Academy offers an animal course in English. The costs can be refunded from the Mobility Budget of IGradU. Alternatively, students can participate in an animal course in Berlin, and the costs can be refunded from the Mobility Budget of IGradU.
