Program Description

This course introduces students to the field of computer science, covering its sub-areas, key concepts, historical and current research, practical applications, and good scientific practices. Students will learn to describe the sub-areas of computer science, explain key concepts, identify historically significant and current research topics, recognize the characteristics and requirements of computer science jobs, and describe the principles of good scientific practice and professional ethics in the field.

Course Structure

The course consists of video lectures, assignments on the Moodle platform, and support from tutors. There are three optional on-campus sessions to assist with assignments. The course materials are digital, and students are expected to find additional resources online.
