Program Details

The program "Kurkistus ICT-alaan" (Introduction to ICT) is a 2-credit course offered by the University of Oulu.

Course Description

The course provides an introduction to the field of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and its various areas. Students will learn about the basic building blocks of ICT and how to utilize design software in the implementation of electronics and software.

Course Objectives

Upon completion of the course, students will have a basic understanding of the key components of ICT and be able to apply design software in the implementation of electronics and software.

Target Group

The course is intended for high school students and other students of the Open University of Oulu, as well as students of the University of Oulu.

Teachers

The course is taught by FM Fanny Vainionpðð and TkT Antti Mðntyniemi.

Language of Instruction

The language of instruction is Finnish.

Completion Methods

The course can be completed through online assignments in the University of Oulu's Moodle online learning environment, or by visiting the Fab Lab, which replaces part of the online assignments.

Assessment Criteria

The course is assessed as passed or failed.

Additional Information

The 2-credit course can be included in the compulsory orientation studies of the Electronics and Communications Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Processing Science degree programs. The rest of the orientation studies will be completed separately. The course can also be included in high school studies.
