Program Overview

The Summer in Barcelona program is a study abroad opportunity offered by the Spears School of Business at Oklahoma State University. The program takes place from May 11-21, 2026, and allows students to explore the impact of businesses that drive the Spanish economy, including tourism, wine, and more.

The Basics

Instructor

The instructor for the program is Steven West, School of Hospitality and Tourism Management.

Travel Dates

The program takes place from May 11-21, 2026.

Application Fee

The application fee is $50, which is non-refundable and will be applied to program fees.

Program Fee

The total program fee is $3650, plus a $200 Study Abroad Admin Fee and airfare.

Course Options

Students can choose from the following 3-credit hour courses:

• BADM 4093(G): Study Abroad Business Impacts of Contemporary International Culture
• BADM 4050: Business Colloquium: Doing Business in Barcelona
• BADM 5093: Study Abroad: Applied Business Studies
• BADM 5200: Selected Master of Business Administration Topics
• HTM 4053(G): Study Abroad: Contemporary International Impacts in Hospitality and Tourism Management

On Campus Meeting Dates

The following on-campus meeting dates are required:

• Friday, April 10, 2026 (orientation)
• Thursday, April 16, 2026
• Wednesday, April 22, 2026
• Thursday, April 30, 2026
• Wednesday, May 27, 2026 (via Zoom)

Airfare

• Students are responsible for purchasing their own airfare.
• CAGLE can assist with organizing air travel.
• Students should not book their flight until they receive the faculty's flight information.
• The recommended airport for arrival is Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat Airport (BCN), and for departure is Valencia Airport (VLC).

Accommodation

• Shared accommodation will be provided.
• Rooms will be twin, triple, or quad share based on location.
• Roommates will be of the same gender.

Payment Schedule

Included in Payment

The program fee includes:

• Tuition for 3 credit hours
• Health and travel insurance
• Lodging (shared with single beds)
• In-country transportation
• Airport transfer on arrival and departure (if within the provided time frame)
• Select group meals
• Entry fees to all required group tours and business visits

Not Included in Payment

The following are not included in the program fee:

• Passport (must be valid for 6 months after return to the US)
• Visa (if required)
• Airfare
• Additional meals
• Personal expenses
