The Bachelor of Science (Molecular Bioscience) is a comprehensive degree that provides students with a broad foundation in molecular bioscience and extensive subject knowledge in specialized topics such as molecular biology, biochemistry, and microbiology.

Course Structure

The degree is typically completed over three years of full-time study and includes:

• Core topics in evolution of biological diversity, molecular basis of life, the nature of science, and biostatistics
• A selection of electives
• Core topics in experimental design and statistics for biology; genetics, evolution and biodiversity; disease and immunology; virology; biochemistry; and molecular biology
• A topic in industrial and pharmaceutical biotechnology, or environmental biotechnology
• A major molecular biosciences research thesis allowing high-performing students to progress to a higher degree by research
