Program Overview

The Jesus Foretold and Fulfilled program is a three-week course that explores the Scriptures of Advent and Christmas to provide a richer celebration of these seasons. The program focuses on the dynamic of promise and fulfillment between the Old and New Testament readings as organized in the Lectionary.

Program Details

• The program fee is $30.
• The course is designed to break open the Church's weekday readings for Advent, with an emphasis on the hope for a messianic leader to bring justice, healing, peace, and an encounter with God to the whole world.
• The program takes a closer look at the infancy narratives and their allusions to the Scriptures and history of the Jewish people to proclaim who the child Jesus is.
• Recommendations for personal prayer practices in preparation for Christmas are also provided.
• No prior experience in Scripture study is necessary.

Additional Materials

• Although there is a Bible available online, participants may wish to have a Bible available in hard copy as well.
• Recommended online Bibles include The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops - New American Bible, Revised Edition (NABRE) or The Christian Classics Ethereal Library Study Bible - New Revised Standard Edition (NRSV).
• All other readings are downloadable from the course site.
