Introduction to the Diploma of University Extension in Competencies for Access to the University of Salamanca
The Diploma of University Extension in Competencies for Access to the University of Salamanca (CADAUSAL) is a university extension program designed to provide students with the necessary competencies to access the University of Salamanca. The program is aimed at students of any nationality and native language who wish to improve their Spanish language skills and gain knowledge of the Spanish culture, history, and society.
Presentation
The CADAUSAL program is a response to the growing demand for university education in Spain, particularly among international students. The program aims to provide students with a comprehensive introduction to the Spanish language, culture, and society, as well as to facilitate their access to the University of Salamanca. Competencies
The program is designed to provide students with the following competencies:
- Conocimientos o contenidos (C): To know the physical and political framework of Spain, its economic and strategic implications, and its historical development.
- Conocimientos o contenidos (C): To understand how a company can be introduced to international trade and how its management changes with this introduction.
- Conocimientos o contenidos (C): To know the characteristics of different business alliances and to be able to analyze the implications of these strategic decisions.
- Conocimientos o contenidos (C): To have a general vision of the most recent events that explain the current situation in Spain.
- Competencias (COM): To increase the level of Spanish language proficiency from an initial level of A2 to an intermediate level of B2.
- Competencias (COM): To acquire sufficient knowledge of specific vocabulary to be able to reasonably interpret texts and manifestations related to the thematic area that the student will face in their future studies.
- Competencias (COM): To acquire sufficient knowledge of the most important authors and works of Spanish literature.
- Competencias (COM): To acquire basic knowledge of art expressed in Spanish.
- Habilidades o Destrezas (HD): To recognize the most characteristic manifestations of popular culture: folklore, customs, rites.
- Habilidades o Destrezas (HD): To be able to express, before any artistic manifestation, the fundamental characteristics of its structure and to situate it in the chronological and typological diversity.
- Habilidades o Destrezas (HD): To receive monthly information from the teaching committee about the learning process of the students.
Profile of Ingress
The recommended language level for admission to the program is intermediate, with a minimum level of A2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). There is no specific prior qualification required, except for the completion of prior studies to access the university.
Access, Pre-Registration, Admission, and Enrollment
The requirements for access to the program are:
- To be in possession of a high school diploma or higher-level training cycles.
- To have a level of Spanish language proficiency of at least A2 according to the CEFR.
- To present an official certification of Spanish language proficiency, recognized by the program.

- Specific access requirements: initial level of Spanish language proficiency of A2 according to the CEFR.
- Certification or request for homologation of pre-university studies to the title of Spanish baccalaureate.
