Program Overview
Ag Policy Curriculum
The curriculum is designed for high school and college students to better understand the flagship federal legislation for farming and nutrition, commonly called the Farm Bill. The lessons are designed to be mixed and matched.
Curriculum Structure
The entire curriculum will fill 2 weeks, or as long as 3 weeks if the supplemental activities are completed as well. For those with limited time, it is possible to choose the overview lesson or perhaps careers in ag policy as stand-alone units.
Target Audience
The curriculum is intended for:
- High school students
- College students
- Educators in various settings, including:
- High school - Agriculture
- High school - Other subjects than agriculture
- Junior high school
- Middle school
- Home school
- 4-H or student organization
- Agricultural organization
- Student project
- Other educational settings
Curriculum Overview
The Ag Policy Curriculum is administered by the Division of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources at Oklahoma State University. It aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of agricultural policy and law, with a focus on the Farm Bill. The curriculum is flexible and can be adapted to fit various educational needs and time frames.
