Undergraduate Certificate in Counselling and Mental Health
The Undergraduate Certificate in Counselling and Mental Health combines a range of subjects in the social sciences and psychology that serves as a foundation for basic counselling skills, with a particular focus on counselling those experiencing mental health challenges. Students are prepared for careers in a wide range of human services organisations across diverse practice areas, including case work, group or individual counselling, in person or remote, and supporting community development and crisis intervention projects.

Qualification for this award requires the successful completion of 40 credit points including the subjects listed below.
- CULT 1026: Understanding Society (UG Cert) - 10 credit points
- BEHV 1027: The Individual in Society (UG Cert) - 10 credit points
- BEHV 2017: Mental Health in the Community (WSTC) - 10 credit points
- WELF 1013: Counselling Foundations (Block) - 10 credit points

The subject listed below counts towards completion of this program for students who passed this subject in Block D 2023 or earlier.
- WELF 1010: Human Services Intervention Strategies (UG Cert) is replaced by WELF 1013: Counselling Foundations (Block)
Admission
This program is open to Australian Citizens and Permanent Residents who are aged 17 years or over and not currently enrolled in or completing Year 12 in the same year of intended admission.
Location
The program is delivered online.
