About Program

Program Overview

The Be Well Plan Mental Health and Resilience Program

The Be Well Plan is an interactive program designed to teach participants how to build a tailored wellbeing and resilience plan. This plan can be used at any stage of life to cope with difficult times, enhance mental health and wellbeing, or simply get back on track.

Program Structure

The main version of the program consists of 5 x 2-hour workshops, delivered over 5 weeks. These workshops cover a range of topics, including:

  • Self-compassion
  • Thinking errors
  • Resilience planning
  • Thought defusion
  • Coping strategies
  • Mindfulness

Program Focus

The program focuses not only on what kinds of activities are helpful for building mental health but also on how to embed these activities into everyday life. It covers goal setting, habit formation, and how to build a strategic and deliberate plan for caring for one's mental health.

Benefits of the Program

The program is built on the evidence-based assumption that individuals can wield some power in shifting their mental health and wellbeing. It explores how individuals respond to inevitable and sometimes impactful events that are out of their control. The program has been shown to improve a range of mental health outcomes, including mental wellbeing, resilience, depression, and anxiety.

Program Outcomes

Participants in the program can expect to learn fundamental aspects of how to look after their mind and grow and sustain their mental health. The program teaches skills that are essential for overall quality of life, such as better mood, productivity, social integration, a sense of meaning and purpose, the ability to manage stress, and the capacity to manage periods of mental ill health.

Additional Resources

There is also a Be Well Mailing list available, which provides ongoing learning opportunities. Every 3 weeks, an email is sent out exploring content related to the program, including similar programs, Be Well news, specific Be Well Plan techniques, and more. This mailing list is open to anyone who wants to learn more about looking after their mental health, whether they have done the program before, are waiting to do it, or just want tips for maintaining their mental wellbeing.
