Program Overview
The University of Tsukuba offers a Library Management Course, designed for working professionals seeking to enhance their skills. The program is held at the Tokyo Campus, located in the heart of the city, and classes are conducted on Saturdays and weekday evenings in small groups.
Program Objectives
The course aims to provide participants with practical knowledge of library management, enabling them to understand the new governance and acquire high management capabilities. The program focuses on the changing role of libraries in regional development and the need for efficient management in response to demographic changes.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the program, applicants must:
- Have graduated from a university or have equivalent academic abilities
- Possess a librarian qualification and at least three years of practical experience in libraries or related fields
- Meet the program's admission requirements, which will be assessed on a case-by-case basis
Program Structure
The course consists of three subjects:
- Library Management (10 sessions, 25 hours, ¥26,250)
- Intellectual Property and Information Security (10 sessions, 25 hours, ¥26,250)
- Public Management Theory (5 sessions, 12.5 hours, ¥13,125)
