Overview

The Management im Gesundheitswesen course is designed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of management in the healthcare sector. The course covers the creation and sale of healthcare products, their value creation in accounting, and the critical examination of results.

Course Details

• The course consists of two modules: "Management im Gesundheitswesen 1" and "Management im Gesundheitswesen 2".
• Each module includes a lecture and a case study seminar, where selected concepts and methods from the lecture are deepened using practice-oriented case studies.
• The course is led by Prof. Dr. Wolf Rogowski from the Institute for Public Health and Nursing Research, Department of Management in the Healthcare Sector.

Learning Outcomes

• Participants can take a theoretically reflected perspective on the management of medical service providers in the German healthcare system.
• Participants are familiar with central aspects of healthcare management functions.
• Participants have an instrumentarium of business management concepts and tools to develop solution proposals for management problems in healthcare companies.

Target Group

The course is aimed at professionals from fields in the health, care, and social sector who want to further qualify themselves in the areas of business management and leadership in the healthcare sector.

Admission Requirements

• A university entrance qualification according to the regulations of the University of Bremen
• At least one year of professional experience
• On written application, persons who can prove by means of a detailed description of their previous work or activity practice that their qualification corresponds to the above-mentioned requirements can also be admitted
• Possibly, German language skills according to the regulations of the University of Bremen

Course Structure

• Duration: 2 semesters
• Scope: 12 CP
• Examination: Each module is completed with a module examination (exam)
• Certificate: Course certificate "Management im Gesundheitswesen"

Study Schedule

• "Management im Gesundheitswesen 1" (each winter semester)
• "Management im Gesundheitswesen 2" (each summer semester) The modules can also be visited in reverse order, so that the further education course can be started in both the winter and summer semester.

Tuition Fees

• Per module: 450 Euro (= 900 Euro)
• Members of the Alumni Association of the University of Bremen receive a 5% discount.
