Writer/Artist-in-Residence Program

The Writer/Artist-in-Residence Program is a key initiative of INPUTS, hosting artists and writers from around the world.


  • Anthony Brunt (Samoa, New Zealand), Summer Semester 2024: Anthony Brunt, a historian and photo historian, will be a guest at the University of Bremen for two months. He specializes in colonial era photography from the South Pacific, especially from the former German colony of Samoa.
  • Marie-CÈlie Agnant, Summer Semester 2023: Marie-CÈlie Agnant, a Haitian-Canadian writer, was a guest at the University of Bremen for two months. She led a creative writing course with students, and the results were presented at a public event.
  • Recaredo Silebo Boturu, Summer Semester 2023: Recaredo Silebo Boturu, a poet, playwright, and actor from Equatorial Guinea, was invited to the University of Bremen for two months. He offered a theater workshop, and the performance was presented at the University's theater.
  • Ellen van Neerven, Summer Semester 2019: Ellen van Neerven, an indigenous Australian writer, was a guest at the University of Bremen. She held a lecture on creative writing and was part of a multidisciplinary conference.
  • Nadja Ofuatey-Alazard, Summer Semester 2017: Nadja Ofuatey-Alazard, an artist, filmmaker, and journalist, was a guest at the University of Bremen. She led a block seminar on decolonizing Bremen and created a documentary with students.
  • Dr. Amatoritsero Ede, Summer Semester 2016: Dr. Amatoritsero Ede, a Nigerian-Canadian poet, was a guest at the University of Bremen. He participated in a conference, wrote poems, and led a creative writing seminar.
