The University of Tsukuba's Global Tech EDGE NEXT program is a training program that focuses on entrepreneurship and startup development. The program is designed to provide participants with the skills and knowledge necessary to turn their research into successful businesses.

Program Details

• Program Description: The program is a comprehensive training program that covers the basics of entrepreneurship, including idea generation, hypothesis testing, and business planning.
• Target Audience: The program is open to researchers, students, and industry professionals who are interested in turning their research into successful businesses.
• Program Structure: The program consists of three online workshops, with additional online content and feedback provided through Slack.
• Workshop Schedule:
  • First workshop: June 13, 10:00-14:00
  • Second workshop: July 11, 10:00-13:30
  • Third workshop: August 22, 13:00-17:00
• Participation Fee:
  • Free for researchers affiliated with public institutions in Tsukuba City
  • Free for members of the consortium (University of Tokyo, University of Tsukuba, Ochanomizu University, and Shizuoka University)
  • 50,000 yen (including tax) for other participants

Application and Admission

• Application Procedure: Applications can be submitted online, with a deadline of April 30 for seed owners and May 27 for followers.
• Admission Criteria: Admission is based on the applicant's research experience, entrepreneurial potential, and motivation for participating in the program.
• Team Formation: Participants will be formed into teams, with each team consisting of a seed owner and several followers.

• Requirements for Support: To be eligible for support, participants must attend all three workshops and have a individual consultation with a staff member from the University of Tsukuba's International Industry-University Collaboration Headquarters.
