Program Overview

Introduction to the SEA-Teacher Program

The SEA-Teacher Program, also known as the Pre-Service Student Teacher Exchange in Southeast Asia, is an initiative dedicated to providing invaluable teaching experiences for pre-service student teachers from various universities in Southeast Asia. The program's mission is to offer aspiring educators a unique opportunity to engage in practicums at schools in different countries within the region.

About the SEA Teacher Program

The SEA-Teacher Project is an internship program conducted by the Southeast Asia Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO), where students participate in educational internships across national borders within the Southeast Asian region. This program is a crucial part of teacher training courses, allowing students to experience education and teaching practices in different countries.

Program Details

  • Objective: To foster global education personnel by providing students with the opportunity to learn about social and educational conditions, as well as teachers' duties, through internships in schools.
  • Target: All university students (content and subjects are based on the internship location).
  • Internship Period: Approximately one month (the specific schedule is determined in consultation with the host university).
  • Internship Location: Partner universities and related schools in Southeast Asia.
  • Internship Content:
    • Participate in local teachers' duties and conduct classes.
    • Interact with students from other countries participating in the program.
    • Mandatory overseas insurance.
  • Curriculum Features: This internship is part of the biology resource course and does not correspond to the "Education Practicum" required for teacher certification. It includes lectures and overseas internships (1 month, 1 credit), with mandatory participation in pre-internship lectures.
  • Course List: Global Issue Internship, an exchange program between SEA-Teacher's four countries and four partner universities, where students are mutually dispatched to another country for internships.
