Specific Course: Poetry in Motion - The Cirque du Soleil
Course Description
The course explores the poetic aspects of the Cirque du Soleil, presenting it as a valuable work of art to be appreciated with reverence. The course will examine the differences between ordinary acrobatic performances and the uniquely composed numbers of the Cirque du Soleil, using comparisons such as the routine of an Olympic champion on the horizontal bar with inserts from the Cirque du Soleil's performances.

This course aims to present the poetic aspects of the Cirque du Soleil, inviting participants to appreciate its unique blend of art, movement, and storytelling, and to explore the philosophical underpinnings of such performances through the lens of Walter Benjamin's "The Work of Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction."
