Specific Course: "That can't be true!"

This course explores the concept of reality and truth, covering topics such as:

• Perception of reality and everyday reality
• Believe (be able to) and trust (you).
• "Really true" or (just) probably
• (Self-)deception and “lies and deception”
• Theoretical framework: Perceptual psychology and communication theoretical considerations
• Topics to be discussed:
  • "I can't believe this!" – And why not?
  • Realize (have to) what is (unfortunately) true
  • “It couldn’t have been like that!” Or: about the unreliability of autobiographical memory
  • False memories – and how they arise
  • "Bad news" that changes your own life
  • Fake news and (“innocent”) ducks
