UPtransition Program
The UPtransition program is a qualification program for more diversity and professional orientation opportunities. It aims to support students who experience discrimination or disadvantages, providing them with a comprehensive program to enhance their career prospects.
Program Description
The program is designed for students who face particular challenges, such as being the first in their family to study, having a migration or flight history, identifying as a person of color, being non-binary or queer, having health restrictions, caring for relatives, or being an international student. The program offers workshops on career-relevant topics, individual counseling, and networking events to facilitate reflection and exchange.
Program Structure
The program consists of the following components:
- Workshops: Participants attend workshops on career orientation and diversity training.
- Networking: Regular networking meetings are held to discuss professional and life-related topics.
- Counseling: Individual counseling sessions help participants identify their strengths and interests and find ways to utilize them.
- WHK-Jobs: The program supports participants in finding student jobs and WHK positions within and outside the university.
- Certificate: Upon completion of the one-year program, participants receive a certificate that can be used for future applications.
Target Group
The program is open to all students who experience discrimination or disadvantages and face particular challenges. This includes, but is not limited to:
- First-generation academics
- Students with a migration or flight history
- Students of color
- Non-binary or queer students
- Students with health restrictions
- Students with caregiving responsibilities
- International students
