Program Overview


Introduction to the ASPIRE League Undergraduate Engineering Design Challenge

The ASPIRE League Undergraduate Engineering Design Challenge is an online workshop program designed for undergraduate students from ASPIRE League member universities, including Tokyo Science University, KAIST, Tsinghua University, Nanyang Technological University, and Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. This program aims to provide students with the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of engineering design and participate in international exchange.


Overview

The program is open to undergraduate students from ASPIRE League member universities who are interested in engineering design and international exchange. Participants will form mixed teams with students from other universities and engage in group work and presentations in English. Students from Tokyo Science University who participate in the program can earn 2 credits by submitting a course registration application.


Eligibility

To be eligible for the program, students must meet the following criteria:


  • Be an undergraduate student at Tokyo Science University (2nd to 4th year as of April 1, 2025)
  • Be interested in student exchange with ASPIRE League member universities

Program Details

Venue

The program will be held at the Ookayama Campus of Tokyo Science University, in the Ishikawadai 5th Building.


Duration

The program will take place from June 23, 2025, to June 27, 2025.


Application

  • Application Method: Submit the required documents through a box file request.
  • Required Documents:
    • A letter or email from the supervising teacher (or department head for students without a research laboratory affiliation) approving the application and participation.
    • A copy of the English score.
    • The completed application form (application-form-aspire-uedc2025.xlsx).
  • Number of Participants: 10 students from Tokyo Science University (up to 30 students in total).
  • Fees: Free of charge.
  • Scholarships: Not applicable.

Selection Method

The selection will be based on a document screening, and in some cases, a task submission may be required.


Important Notes

  • Participants must attend all sessions of the workshop, as absence or partial attendance is not allowed.
  • Attendance at the workshop may require absence from regular classes, but this will not be considered as a public absence.
  • Before the workshop, participants must attend one of the online orientation sessions (mandatory) on either June 6, 2025 (10:00-11:00 JST) or June 20, 2025 (16:00-17:00 JST).
