Manchester Tech Camp
The Manchester Tech Camp is a summer program that provides students with hands-on experience in science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics (STEAM) fields.
Program Details
- The program is free for students entering grades 5-12 who attend school in Manchester.
- The goal of the camp is to cultivate interest and excitement around STEAM subjects through interactive and hands-on activities.
- The program emphasizes problem-solving, creative thinking, and having fun.
- All levels of experience are welcome.
Application and Enrollment
- The application process involves submitting an application, which will be reviewed, and then enrollment information will be provided if accepted.
- Submitting an application does not automatically enroll the student in the program.
Week 1 Programs (July 28 August 1, 2025)
- Body Builders (Grades 9-12): Explore the inner workings of the human body and create functional models of body systems and organs.
- Perceptive Plushies (Grades 7-10): Explore robotics and animatronics by creating stuffed animals that react to stimuli.
- TechSplorers (Grades 5-8): Cycle through various STEAM topics, including forensic science, circuit-building, and kitchen science.
Week 2 Programs (August 4 August 8, 2025)
- Body Builders (Grades 9-12): Explore the inner workings of the human body and create functional models of body systems and organs.
- Zoom Lens (Grades 9-12): Explore microscopes and create a prototype of a custom microscope that attaches to a phone.
- TechSplorers (Grades 5-8): Cycle through various STEAM topics, including forensic science, circuit-building, and kitchen science.
Funding and Priority
- Funding for the Manchester Tech Camp is provided by the U.S. Economic Development Administration as part of a national Build Back Better Regional Challenge award.
- Priority is given to students enrolled in public schools within the Manchester school district.
