Introduction to the Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship

The Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) is a prestigious program that offers a $3,500 stipend for full-time summer research, which lasts for 10 weeks for SURF USA and 9 weeks for SURF Abroad. Additionally, a $600 stipend is provided to the faculty mentor. The program also includes up to $600 of support for research expenses.

Eligibility and Requirements

SURF recipients are not allowed to be enrolled in summer courses during the award period unless they receive prior approval from the Hamel Center director.

Research Support

These grants may support research that contributes to a senior project or thesis.
