Drone (UAV/UAS) Operator Certificate Program

Program Description

The Drone (UAV/UAS) Operator Certificate program is a multi-workshop program that includes numerous elective workshops held at various training locations, including Portsmouth, Durham, Manchester, and online. The program is designed to allow students to complete and obtain their certificate over a 12-month period.

Program Requirements

To earn the Drone (UAV/UAS) Operator Certificate, participants must complete four elective workshops from the list below:

• Introduction to UAV/UAS/Drones
• Part 107 Drone (UAV/UAS) Pilot Test Prep Workshop
• Introduction to Drone (sUAS) Videography & Photography
• Drone (UAV/UAS) Business Applications
• The Basics of Photogrammetric Processing of UAV Data
• Drone (sUAS) Regulation, Application, and Flight Tactics

Certificate Information

• Coursework must be completed within two years.
• If enrolled in multiple certificate programs, a maximum of two workshops can count toward more than one certificate.
• Required workshops cannot be waived, though substitutions may be approved on a case-by-case basis.
• UNH reserves the right to modify or discontinue programs at any time.

Enrollment and Scheduling

• Students don't need to be enrolled in a certificate program to attend workshops.
• To have courses count toward a certificate, enroll before the third workshop in that content area.
• Add the certificate to the cart at checkout for a one-time $50 fee.
• Workshops are offered in Portsmouth, Manchester, and Live Online.
• Most workshops are available each spring and fall, though some are offered once a year.

Completion and Certificates

• Progress is tracked automatically in the Learn for Life account.
• Digital certificates are issued within two weeks.
• If a certificate hasn't been received after three weeks, please contact the university.

Certificate Cost

• Each individual workshop varies in cost.
• The tuition price of each workshop can be viewed by following the links above.
• Payment can be completed on a class-to-class basis or all together.
• There is also a one-time $50 certificate administration fee.

How and When to Register

• Select the workshop(s) above and continue to "Enroll Now."
• Follow the steps provided to register for the workshop and reserve a seat.
• To enroll in the certificate program, add the "Certificate Enrollment fee" to the cart at checkout for a one-time $50 fee.

Workshop Locations

• The location of each workshop can be viewed above and/or when registering for a workshop.
• Specific directions to the workshop location will be provided upon registration or can be found on the university's website.

UAS Collegiate Training Initiative Program

• This program and all attributed courses have been recognized by the Federal Aviation Administration's UAS Collegiate Training Initiative Program.
• The program certifies the university's curriculum in providing various aspects of UAS training and preparing students for careers in UAS technology.

• The UNH Drone Academy was created to offer training for all levels of experience.
• From beginner to expert, the instructors are always prepared to tailor the trainings to the students' needs.

Hands-On Flight Time

• The university prioritizes hands-on flight time, crucial one-on-one instructional support, and customizable programming.
• This sets the university apart from other institutions.

Certificate and Exam Prep

• Earn the UNH Drone Academy Certificate to demonstrate flight and operation skills to employers/organizations.
• Commercial pilots can pass the Part 107 exam with ease using the university's exam preparation workshop.
