Program Overview


Superstar Writers Program

The Superstar Writers program is designed for students in Grades 2-4, aiming to spark their imagination with freewrites, teach writing techniques, and help them complete longer pieces while connecting with a supportive group of other writers.


Program Details

  • Where: Community Literacy Center, Suite 109 Morrill Hall, 63 College Rd., Durham, NH
  • Dates: Jan. 29, Feb. 5, Feb. 12, Feb. 19, Mar. 5, Mar. 12, Mar. 26, Apr. 2, Apr. 9, Apr. 16, Apr. 23
  • Day/Time: Thursdays, 4:30-5:30pm

Enrollment and Payment

Participants will purchase multi-session punch-cards instead of enrolling in individual sessions. If a child is regularly attending Superstar Writers, punch-cards do not expire between semesters. However, if a child is not regularly attending (i.e., missed 3 or more meetings in a row), the punch-card expires at the end of a semester.


Punch Card Options

  • 5 Session: $35, Registration Close Date: March 25
  • 10 Session: $65, Registration Close Date: February 4

CampDoc

The program utilizes CampDoc for registration questions and waivers. Participants will receive an invitation or reminder email from "University of New Hampshire via CampDoc" after enrolling. It is crucial for parents/guardians to respond promptly and complete the registration questions, as a participant's CampDoc profile must be 100% complete before they can attend the program.


Drop Off & Pick Up Procedures

  • Arrival/Drop-off: Please arrive 5-10 minutes early. Children in grades four and below must be dropped off by an adult.
  • Late Arrivals: Check in face-to-face with a CLC staff member.
  • Dismissal: All minors must be dismissed to an authorized adult with a picture ID.

The UNH Community Literacy Center is located in Suite 109 of Morrill Hall, 62 College Rd., Durham, NH.


Program Structure

The program is structured to allow flexibility, with participants able to attend as many or as few sessions as fit their schedule. No refunds are provided, including for missed sessions. Additional information is sent directly from program staff.
