Program Overview

Kid Cooks & Crafts Program

The Kid Cooks & Crafts program is a fun and interactive 3-session series designed for students in grades 1-6.

Program Description

In this engaging program, kids will develop essential skills in food handling, preparation, and safety while enjoying creative craft activities. Each session includes hands-on cooking time, a craft project while waiting for creations to cook/bake, and learning to clean up workstations.

Program Requirements

All materials are provided, but for safety, participants must wear closed-toed shoes and have long hair pulled back. Learning can be messy, so kids should wear clothing that's okay to get dirty.

Program Schedule

All sessions are held at the Hamel Recreation Center's Demonstration Kitchen. The program offers three sessions:

  • Session 1: February 4-18, Wednesdays, 4:30-6:00pm, Grades 1-6, $68
  • Session 2: March 4-25, Wednesdays, 4:30-6:00pm, Grades 1-6, $68
  • Session 3: April 8-22, Wednesdays, 4:30-6:00pm, Grades 1-6, $68
