Program Overview

Língua e Cultura Chinesas Program

The Língua e Cultura Chinesas program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the Chinese language and culture. The program is divided into several levels, each with its own objectives and outcomes.

Program Levels

  • Básico I (Iniciaçăo): This introductory level aims to provide students with a general knowledge of the Chinese language, highlighting its unique characteristics, such as non-alphabetic writing, unique grammar, and monosyllabic and tonal phonetic system. Students will be gradually familiarized with useful vocabulary and expressions in everyday situations, gaining the necessary basis to explore topics in tourism and commerce in later stages.
  • Básico II: This level focuses on developing communicational skills, both in auditory comprehension and oral expression, as well as in reading and interpreting written texts, deepening linguistic knowledge and cultural sensitivity necessary for authentic and meaningful communication.
  • Intermédio I: Students will immerse themselves not only in the structural aspects of the Chinese language but also in understanding the values, traditions, and ways of life of Chinese society, fundamental for effective and respectful communication in a global context.
  • Intermédio II: This level continues to expand vocabulary, reinforce grammatical structures, and promote increasingly natural fluency, preparing students for real communication situations, whether in social, academic, or professional contexts.

Program Objectives

The primary objective of the Língua e Cultura Chinesas program is to develop students' communicational skills in Chinese, enabling them to understand and appreciate the Chinese culture and its increasing influence in the world. Upon completion of each level, students will be prepared to take the official Chinese proficiency exams (HSK).

Exam Preparation

  • Básico I: Preparation for HSK 1
  • Básico II: Preparation for HSK 2
  • Intermédio I: Initial preparation for HSK 3
  • Intermédio II: Preparation for HSK 3

Certification

Upon successful completion of each course, students will receive a participation certificate.
