New Hampshire Youth Band
Overview
The New Hampshire Youth Band provides an enrichment experience to dedicated players of concert band instruments in middle school and high school, grades 7-12. Rehearsals are held on Tuesday evenings from 5:40 to 7:45 pm at the Paul Creative Arts Center at the University of New Hampshire. Student instrumentalists who love playing and seek more challenging and sophisticated experiences enjoy and benefit from this program. Players return to their school music programs more accomplished and prepared to be student leaders.

Leadership
The band is co-conducted by UNH Faculty member Mark Zielinski and UNH Faculty Emeritus Mark DeTurk.
Schedule
- The band meets for two ten-week sessions each year
- Ten rehearsals in the fall precede a fall concert
- The winter session rehearsals begin at the end of January with a final concert in April
Tuition and Concert Admission
- Tuition is $125 per semester
- Concert admission is free of charge

Program Note
The New Hampshire Youth Band will not be offered in the Fall of 2025; it will resume in Spring, 2026. The registration portal for the Spring, 2026 session is expected to open in late Fall.
