Study Abroad Champions
The Office of Study Abroad at the University of Arkansas aims to make study abroad an option for every student, providing support throughout the process, from program selection to pre-departure and beyond.
Initiative Overview
The Study Abroad Champions initiative seeks to facilitate an enhanced culture of study abroad by supporting and empowering students through various means, including:
- Digital resources
- Regular meetings
- A newsletter
- Incentives
- Other forms of support
Opportunities with the Study Abroad Office
There are several opportunities for students to get involved with the Study Abroad Office, including:
Become an Exchange Pal
Help befriend new international exchange students during their semester or year at the University of Arkansas.
Work as a Peer Advisor for the Office of Study Abroad
Promote study abroad on campus and serve as a first contact for students interested in study abroad.
Opportunities with Other International Offices
There are also opportunities to get involved with other international offices, including:
Serve as a Cross Cultural Mentor for International Student Orientation
Guide new international students through orientation and help them become familiar with campus.
Join the International Culture Team (ICT)
The ICT offers global education to schools at all grade levels, as well as businesses and community organizations throughout Northwest Arkansas. The team typically consists of around 50 graduate and undergraduate students representing more than 30 countries.
Become a Campus Cousin
This is a great way for individuals and their families to get involved and learn about other cultures and viewpoints.
