The online Sam and Janet Alley Master of Science in Construction Management is the first of its kind in the state and fills a growing need for construction leadership and expertise in all phases of development. This program is designed to give construction managers who already have a bachelor's degree the necessary skills to lead a construction project from the design phase through completion.
Program Overview
The program is named after Sam and Janet Alley, who have a long history of construction leadership in Arkansas and around the world. As the construction boom over the past 25 years in Northwest Arkansas has shown, there is a need for qualified, trained individuals to step in and lead new projects. In consultation with regional and national construction firms, the College of Engineering designed this program to give students the inside information on techniques and skills needed to successfully complete the degree.
Program Details
- The program involves the College of Engineering, the Sam M. Walton College of Business, the Fay Jones School of Architecture and Design, and the School of Law.
- This 30-hour, interdisciplinary master's degree program includes detailed lessons and assignments in scheduling, finance, productivity, efficiency, safety, contracts, and risk management.
- After graduation, students will be qualified to serve as leaders in many of those same firms. Graduates will have skills to fill supervisor, management, and leadership roles in their companies.

Students must take 5 of the 6 courses listed below. The one not taken as a required course may be used as an elective.
- CVEG 55003 - Construction Safety
- CVEG 55103 - Construction Scheduling
- CVEG 55303 - Legal Aspects of Construction
- CVEG 55603 - Building Information Modeling for Design and Construction
- CVEG 55703 - Construction Project Management
- CVEG 55903 - Cost Management: Ownership
- Select an additional five courses from any approved Master of Science in Engineering courses offered.
Requirements
- Have a bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
- An overall bachelor degree GPA of 3.0, or a 3.0 in the final 60 hours of the degree.
- Students must earn a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 2.85 on all graduate courses attempted.

- Tuition / credit hour: $313.00
- Technology fee / credit hour: $50
- Off-campus fee / credit hour: $30
- Tuition and fees per credit hour reflect fall 2025 rates for students studying completely online. Students in online programs who take an on-campus course will pay on-campus fees, mandatory and college fees, for only the on-campus course.
