Curriculum and Requirements
The program requires five courses and a total of at least 13 credits: one course selected from offerings in each of four disciplinary areas and a fifth required seminar course. All courses can be completed at the University of New Hampshire. Through a cooperative agreement between the Universities of New Hampshire and Maine, some courses at the University of Maine may fulfill one or more of the requirements for this program.

- Genetics and Genomics: Choose from Population Genetics, Molecular Evolution, Comparative Genomics, Evolutionary Genetics of Plants, or another approved course.
- Cell Biology, Biochemistry, and Physiology: Select from Endocrinology, Physical Biochemistry, Principles of Biochemistry I and II, Biochemistry of Cancer, Protein Structure and Function, or Molecular Microbiology.
- Ecology and Evolution: Options include Plant-Microbe Interactions, Plant-Animal Interactions, Microbial Ecology and Evolution, Tropical Ecology, or Community Ecology.
- Bioinformatics and Computational Biology: Choose from Genomics and Bioinformatics, Programming for Bioinformatics, or Applied Bioinformatics.
- Seminar Course: A required seminar to integrate knowledge across disciplines.
